Group (maximum 10 divers) would be picked up in Port Alberni, BC, in the afternoon (approx departure 4 pm) on February 13th and taken by boat to the lodge. There is no charge the first night, but guests are asked to bring their own dinners to eat while travelling to the lodge. The following days breakfast is provided, followed by 2-3 dives (depending on distance and conditions) and lunch on the boat. When whales and other exciting wildlife are observed, there are typically opportunities for photo ops. Divers are usually back to the lodge by mid-afternoon and before dinner people can use the kayaks to roam around in the bay, or sit in the hot tub.
On the last day divers will go out early and have 2 close-by dives with an hour surface interval then come back to the lodge to pack up gear before returning to Port Alberni and having lunch on board. Divers are usually back to Port Alberni around 3:30 - 4:00 PM. Individual rate is typically $212.50 per day per diver plus taxes; however, our special rate for this trip is $180.00 per day plus taxes (total $193.00 per day) per diver. Total cost: $386.00. Prices include pick up/drop off by boat in Port Alberni, accommodation, 2-3 dives/day (depending on conditions and distance of the sites), air fills, use of cylinders and weights, meals (except on the evening of arrival), coffee/tea, and use of the facilities (kayaks/hot tub/etc). The only other cost for this trip will be transportation to and from Port Alberni. As we will be organizing rides/carpooling we expect this cost to be relatively minimal. Rendezvous Dive Adventures are unable to provide alcoholic beverages but encourage their guests to bring their favourite beverages with them. Nitrox (32%) is available for a fee of $15.00 per cylinder/fill plus tax (3 weeks notice is required before you arrive to coordinate nitrox) payable directly to the operator. Given that we are within 3 months of scheduling this trip, a $150.00 deposit would be required upon reservation with the remainder to be paid when the trip is finalized (hopefully by late September). For anyone requiring gear rentals, we will be doing a trip special for $40 - everything you need to go diving. As they do not know what is going to happen with fuel prices, Rendezvous Dive Adventures must reserve the right to charge a fuel surcharge if prices get ridiculously high. It is difficult to know what will happen as far as weather. As such, there is a small possibility the trip will cancelled with only a few days notice. In this event the entire trip cost will be refunded. There is also a chance that once we arrive in Barkley Sound the weather worsens and we are forced to miss a day of diving. In this event that we miss a day of diving, that days diving cost will be refunded. No later than a week before arrival we'll need to know if any guests in the group have food allergies and/or restrictions, which will happily be accommodated for. In the interests of everyone’s diving pleasure, we ask that divers be Advanced Open Water certified with 15 logged dives with recent cold water experience in order to come on this trip. If you do not fit this criteria and would still like to go, please let us know and we can figure something out! Please register above if you are interested.
