Race Rocks is one of Victoria's most popular charter destinations, and for a good reason. Race Rocks is well known for the many California and Stellar Sea Lions that hang out on the rocks. These very curious and playful guys will follow you around and even pull on your fins and hood if you let them. If Sea Lions are not you thing, simply dive close to the bottom and check out the other sea life!
Due to the heavy currents in this area we normally require advanced certification to come on the charters we book to Race Rocks; however, because of these strong currents, there is diverse and dense life covering all areas of Race Rocks. There are entires reefs covered in plumose anemones, as well as strawberry anemones and soft corals. Sea Lions are not the only large life here; Octopuses and Wolf Eels are commonly spotted around Race Rocks as well.
For those diving around Victoria, it doesn't get much better than Race Rocks. Be sure to keep an eye on the charter schedule as we run 3-4 Race Rocks trips per year and they always fill up fast!
